Birthday

Today is my birthday!  I have to say it's been the best one yet for two reasons:

1.) We're on Christmas break! aka no work for 2 weeks
2.) I got to spend all day with my little guy.

I'm just so in love.  27 will be a great year!

Also, meant to show you Judebug's new trick.  He's been busy with it for 2 weeks now. Keeps us very busy........

 Yep, he's pulling himself up.  on everything!  And occasionally this happens:

 Which is why we have pads on all our hardwood floors now.  I thought I had so much longer before I needed to 'babyproof' this place.

Santa? I know him!

Apparently Jude and Buddy the elf don't have that in common.  The whole time poor Jude couldn't figure out who this crazy man was.  Must take after his momma.  I never did like, you, Santa (Sorry, I have to be honest around here. Remember when I wrote you letters telling you I was scared that you could 'see me when I'm sleeping," and could 'climb down my chimney'?  I hate to say it, but those things are creepy.  Did you like how I tried to make up for it by trying to convince you that, despite my dislike for you, I should be on the good list?  If it makes you feel any better, I wrote the same sort of things to the Easter bunny.)

Anyway it was really cute to see how Judebug reacted to Santa.  Santa even found it funny that he was so curious.

 Here's to ho ho hoping (sorry, I had to) Jude's on the good list!

Want to know something strange?  That stocking is mine.  I look at it all the time and wonder why we have my mom's stocking hanging at our house.  Then I remember that I'm a mom.  Thanks Jen and Joey for these amazing Christmas gifts last year!

 

Want to know something strange about that Baby's First Christmas stocking?  Yeah, it was mine when I was 4 days old in 1984.  Can't believe it's my Judebug's now.

If you're wondering when he started pulling himself up on things, it was probably yesterday.  It was seriously like, BAM, there he was, pulling himself up.  My sweet, sweet baby is growing up!

And naturally, after all of that help..........

 

  .....a snooze was in order.

 

Canon bomb

Hey peeps!  Friday was amazing.  Sitting on my front porch was my Christmas present to myself:

Merry Christmas, me!  A silhouette cameo!  Can you say hello handmade holidays?  (Sorry family/friends, we're going the homemade route this year).  If you don't know what this thing is, it's a die cut that cuts pretty much anything from paper to fabric and all the designs are stored online (no cartridges!).  Basically, completely up my alley.  Can't wait to share some projects!

As if that wasn't enough, there was a little UPS tag on my door saying that our new Canon Rebel T3i camera was here!  When it rains it pours, doesn't it?  So we drove to the UPS hub at 7:45pm on a Friday night to pick it up so we could have it over the weekend.  Our little Judebug cried the whole way home.  We weren't sure why but now I feel like the worst mom on the face of the earth because when we took him out of his car seat and pulled off his hat it was sweat city!  The poor man was overheating!!  Sorry Judebug.  I didn't know it was possible to overheat in 20 degree weather.  Lesson learned.  Despite that minor detail, I'm so glad we went to pick the camera up because it snowed about 3in the next day and we just stayed inside and tried to figure the darn thing out.  I'm sure once we do it'll be great.  But until then, these pictures aren't too shabby!
