Halloween '13

It amazes me that Halloween has come and gone already.  This year, we decided that Jude would be Sully from Monsters, Inc., mostly because he loves the movie and my little sister was Sully when she was 2, just 12 short years ago.  My mom still had the costume, so she sent it our way.  When it arrived, Jude all of a sudden wasn't into it and wouldn't even put it on.  To this day he still hasn't put the darn thing on.  So it sat there......on our couch....(was still on our couch until this Sunday, because that's how on the ball I am....)...just for the slight chance that he might decide it would be a cool idea to wear it.  Nope.

So we needed a quick back-up plan.

Luckily we had a monkey costume for Lucy from when Jude was a monkey his first Halloween.  I told the check-out lady at the store that Lucy was going to be a monkey and she goes, "Well is her brother going to be The Man in the Yellow Hat?"  Um, no lady, but thanks, NOW he is!  And so it was....and that's how our little Curious George Halloween costumes came to be.

PS.  If you need toddler boys skinny corduroy yellow pants with a few days notice, you can always count on Old Navy.

Jude was obsessed with "Halloween Night" as he kept calling it.  We weren't sure if we were going to go trick-or-treating because it was pouring at like 6pm.  But since it cleared up and wasn't cold out, we went up and down the block.  I'm so glad we did, too, because this little man was made for trick-or-treating.  Knocking on all the doors, talking to all the other kids, jumping in the leaves and puddles, HEAVEN!  "Momma, it's Hayoween night!"  As we walked, we recited his favorite Halloween book, "We're Goin' on a Ghost Hunt".  He has it memorized. I've tried to get it on video but he gets so goofy when I tape him.  But trust me on this...it's adorable.

Besides having the best 'Hayoween night,'  Jude also had some of the best days right before Halloween because Nana and Papa were here! We went to the Science Center and saw Rex, went to Grant's Farm and drove on a choo choo through the spooky forest, ate at some great places and played til we couldn't play no mo'!

Nana and her little man (By the way, Jude made Nana that heart necklace.  And by made I mean he sort of helped me squish the clay and when I told him to paint it, he used 2 brush strokes....one purple, one blue and then goes, "perfect!" and was done.  Luckily, Nana did, in fact, think it was perfect.  Nana's are great, aren't they?)

So, you think we're done, do you?  Oh no!  We had yet another visitor fly in on her broomstick (her joke) on Halloween day.  We had the best time just getting cozy in our basement and hanging around with our auntie Lala!  Lulu and Lala were made for each other....and Jude couldn't get enough Lala, either.

Cozy in the basement!  I'd like you all to know that when Jude says the word cozy, he most certainly shimmies his shoulders with excitement.  I wish I could show it to you.  The next time you see him, please bring this up immediately...

So there ya go, folks.  Our most wonderful Halloween ever!  We can't wait for Thanksgiving when we can all be reunited again! One thing is for sure, a little boy will most likely be wearing yellow pants...
