36 weeks

Well.  I'm getting there folks.  And I sure do feel huge tonight.

Please disregard everything else in this picture besides the bump.  My hair was having one of those days.  So was my face, apparently.

Luckily, I'm still feeling pretty good!  I waddle on days like today, when she finds herself in some crazy uncomfortable positions.  But that's about it!  I'm just praying she stays in there until our family comes down.  Or at least until I pack the hospital bag......

PLEASE WATCH

Hey you guys!  Do you have 20 minutes?  If so, you NEED to watch this.  If not, you need to find a time when you do and WATCH THIS.  Bottom line, this needs to get watched by you {and everyone you know}.

A little background before you watch:

This is a video about finding a cure for cancer.  It was made by Gloria Borges, a girl I went to high school with.  She was a few years older than me, but when your high school only has about 100 girls a class, you sort of get to know everyone.  And trust me, everyone knew Gloria.  She just has that spunk.  That sparkle.  That addicting positive spirit.  She was brilliantly smart, funny, involved in just about everything {sports, being our school vice president, endless clubs, just to name a few}, she just had it all going for her.  Someone you remember.  I have been keeping up with her story through our high school alumni magazines, and then found her blog/foundation online. Today, her foundation came out with this new project, highlighted in this video.  Here is her story:

My Grandpa has been a colon cancer survivor {warrior!} for 30+ years, even with a similar grim outlook as Gloria's.  Christopher's Grandpa died of colon cancer.  It affects both of our families, and maybe even some of yours.  If not colon cancer, cancer in general affects everyone.  We need to find a cure!

And who knows, when we find a cure for cancer, maybe we can even find a cure for other diseases.  Please pass this on, and share with everyone you know!

God Bless!

Snow long ago

Woah.  I haven't posted in a while!

If I'm being completely honest, it's because I've been in a funk.

If I'm being honest, it's because The Bugs has been giving me a run for my {non-existent} money.

If I'm being honest, I've been stressing myself out trying to get the house/everything ready for a new baby girl who will be here in like a month.  EEEEK.

If I'm being honest, I've been missing Omaha.   The familiarity, the support of family, the convenience.

I want to touch on some of these subjects more in depth later, but for now I'm here to report that I'm slowly climbing out of my funk......and I couldn't be happier!

During that funk, we had a snowfall {somewhat} worthy of a snowsuit and boots so I had to take advantage and bundle up that Bugs so he could do the whole "snow" experience for the first time!  He waddled around like a puffed-up marshmallow.  It was presh.

my 'elper'

all done!

While I'm talking about this little guy, I've gotta tell you just how much he's grown lately.  Not so much in the weight category, somewhat in the height {he's rocking the tom sawyer pant look more often than not lately}, but more importantly in the vocab department.  This kid talks to me like a person!  It's so darn cute.  But oh boy does he have a strong personality.  He knows exactly what he wants {the apple doesn't.....you know the deal}.  And generally speaking, most of the time he wants "more trucks".

Let me just explain to you what 'more trucks' means.  It means, "hey mom, let's not stay at home today. Let's drive around and find all the trucks we can.  Like the mail trucks, the ups trucks, the fedex trucks, the trash trucks, the big trucks {to name some faves} and all the other cool trucks on the mean streets of the Lou.  You guys, my son is ALL boy.  He loves trucks!  So we try and go somewhere everyday just so we can see "more trucks".

While heading to library storytime on Monday {and to see 'more trucks' of course} we encountered Jude's heaven:  Construction work.  This consisted of like 3 "Bob trucks"  aka bulldozers and other trucks you might find on the hit show "Bob the Builder", let's just say my main man was beside himself.  I told him we could see them when we were done with storytime.  Big mistake.  You might think that a wee one would forget about those trucks when distracted at storytime, right?  Oh no.  Not my wee one.  He screamed the whole time, "More Trucks.  Peas! More Bob trucks."  He got so out of control that I literally had to explain what was happening to the entire group.  He got so out of control that when Miss W walked by to show Jude a picture in the book he grabbed the book to close it, looked right up at the teacher and said, "Allllllllll dooooone!  More trucks!"  This is my child.

So needless to say, someone's been keeping me busy.  Little does he know what's about to him in a little over a month.  Dear Lord, help us all!

Comments

Hey guys!

I know I just posted about February, but I also have been meaning to fix a few errors regarding commenting on this here blog.  Apparently, the comments weren't working?  I tried to fix this a few months ago, but couldn't figure it out.  But now I think I might've!  If there's anyone out there reading this, can you comment and let me know that it's back up and working?  I'd love to know if I actually handled the sitch.

Thanks a mil!

Love. Love. Love.

I love February!

It's that transition month, when colors seem to come back into our lives, and it's acceptable to eat tons of chocolate.  Not to mention you get to celebrate love and everything roses {have I mentioned that I love roses?}

Happy February, loves!
