Home

After a few bumps, we made it to St. Louis! I can't wait to let you know all the details of the move but we have no Internet at home yet so our time at Panera is short and I'm mostly concerned about keeping this little one occupied.

We are loving our new house though. Every piece of furniture fit perfectly it was so meant to be!

More pics to come!

Almost

Isn't this how your house looks?

Wow, we're almost there. Boxes are piled in the sunroom and our lives are completely out of order. Poor Jude, he has no idea what's going on!

We pack the truck tomorrow. Say some prayers for us (and our backs) that everything goes well.

That 7ish hour drive to St. Louis will be the longest ever. I've never wanted to feel settled so much as I do now.

A good day for a rash

I can handle most things. Poop, spit up, boogies, they're nothing for me. But for some reason, I'm super grossed-out by rashes, hives, and anything related to weird bumps that spread all over a body.

So today has been fun watching red bumps spread all over Jude. He woke up with a few on his face and now they're on his tummy and legs. (insert shudder)

We're waiting for Dad to come home and help us. You can't really see the rash in this pic, but trust me, it's there. I feel so bad for my boy today!

Hello.

A quick hello to let you all know we're alive and well! Project "pack the house, but not your sanity" is.....going. And going. And will somehow be done by Tuesday. That's when we load our life in a uhaul and on Wednesday we'll be heading to our new home! I speak for both of us when I say we're soooo ready. We've had a whole year to 'prepare' for this, so at this point my attitude is 'let's just get this show on the road'. That being said, I don't really think it's hit me yet. And to be honest, I'm not sure it will until we're a couple weeks in. I'll keep you posted.

In other news, Jude added a new word to his vocab today. That fine list just keeps growing! Besides cheese, shoes, daddy, bath, pup, and mommy, Jude can now say balloon! Of course he says 'boon' but that's even cuter.

It made the entire oil change worth it.

Easy feet

Yeah, I've got a million things going on in my life and I'm writing about the easy feet. So sue me.

But today I had to run to get a few things for the bug so of course I headed to Target, my second home. We needed milk, toddler forks (Jude's getting jealous of our utensils), pacifiers (can you believe they don't sell the ones he likes anymore....totally our luck...and he only has one left so I got nervous and figured we better try and transition smoothly to another kind), and anything else that we might find.

The trip was a bummer. The only forks in stock were some weird disposable kind, and the pacifiers with similar nipples (he will not do those ortho ones at all) were all girl colors. Had it not been for running into Kerri, the preschool teacher at work, it would have been the biggest Target fail I've ever had. {thanks for redeeming it for us, Kerri! Totally worth it to see you!}. So after we bought some cups and bowls on clearance (because of course we needed them) we decided to head to Walmart.

I don't usually have good luck at the walheezie but today, oh today, was a different story. For starters, I found some great forks. And by the grace of God found some similar pacis that he actually likes. Alleluia! I was already one happy camper and then I ran into this, the easy feet. Guys, I've been wanting this for years, or whenever it was when I first saw it on TV. It's like heaven in a scrub! For someone who washes her feet almost every night before bed because she can't stand the feeling of dirty feet, this was a huge find. And on clearance for 5 smackers! I almost bought 2 (almost). Anyway, I should probably be embarrassed about my excitement, or the fact that I just blogged about washing my feet, but I am not! We all have our things.

So besides washing my feet, I've been doing nothing but packing, mixed with a bit of mommying, throughout the day. We move in like 2 weeks. Pressure's on!

Today

If you're reading this, say a prayer for Christopher! He's taking Step 3 of his boards today and tomorrow. I know he'd really appreciate it!

And in honor of daddy (and grandpa) Jude decided he, too, wanted in on the fun! By the way, this was one of those 'meant to be' finds at the goodwill. Like 3 bucks, not even opened! My kinda snag!

Ps. I have 265 pics from Jude's birthday that I can't wait to show you. But don't worry, I won't show them all.

birth.day

To my Judebug:

What a great year, buddy!
You're the sweetest, smartest, cutest, handsomest little boy I have ever met.

I love how you give me hugs and kisses.
I love how if I'm sitting on the floor you run up from behind me and 'get me'.
I love how you look in cabinets and take everything out.
I love how you hide our remotes.
I love how you watch the pups on tv.
I love how you tell me if that very sad adopt an animal commercial comes on tv.
I love how you move the curtain in your room to look outside when you're supposed to be taking a nap (I can spy on you, you know).
I love how you make an 'aaaaaaawwwww' noise when giving someone (or something) love.
I love how when you wake up in the mornings you never cry, but instead let me ease into the day by listening to you play in your crib.
I love how you run around the house with your sippy and spill it everywhere even though they are 'no spill' sippies.
I sort of love how you run around saying 'daaaaaaaa-deeee', but secretly wish it was 'mommmmmyyy'
I love how you love music and try to sing to your favorite song, "Little Sir Echo".
I love how you bring me shoes to put on, even if you're already wearing some.
I love how you're even saying the word shoes, because it lets me know you are for sure my son (not that there was any doubt....a girl doesn't forget that sort of day)
I love how you mow the yard with me.
I love how you splash in the bath and kick kick in the wa-wa.
I love how you already understand my facial expressions....and even make some of your own in response.
I love how you babble back to me like we're having a real conversation.
I love how you stand on the air vent to cool off.
I love how you can't get enough of vaccuums (this will come in handy later).
I love how you look under the foot stool and couch to find your toys.
I love how you flirt when an old lady tells you you're cute when we're shopping.
I love how you're so adventurous.
I love how you're so happy.
I love how you're so silly.
I love how you already have the most dynamic personality.

But mostly, I love how perfect you are for us!

Thank you for being you!

Happy 1st Birthday

PS.  Totally crying right now.
